Late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's widow Rekha Mahajan told a Mumbai court on Friday that Pravin Mahajan shot her husband with a pistol.

Rekha, who deposed before the court, described on the events leading to Mahajan's death nearly a year ago.

Mahajan's widow said that she pushed her brother-in-law Pravin out while he was still trying to fire from his gun and dragged him out of the house. Then Pramod Mahajan asked her to call Gopinath Munde.

This is the first time Rekha Mahajan is speaking publicly about the murder. She had collapsed in court on Thursday.

It was the first time she came face to face with Pravin Mahajan.

Pravin, Pramod's younger brother, is accused of having gone to the Worli residence of the BJP leader on April 22, 2006 and shooting him thrice at point blank range resulting in his death on May 3.

Pravin had pleaded not guilty of the charges of trespassing and murder.
